The Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department has 4 full-time and 30 volunteer personnel. The Department has mutual agreements with surrounding cities and will service wherever it is needed, as long as vehicles are available. UVFD has an ISO scale -  fire insurance rating of 5 in town / 9 out of the city limits.
