Built in Texas Renaissance-style in 1927, the courthouse anchors the historic town square. This turn of the century architecture is still prevalent in Uvalde. Nestled along wide, tree shaded streets are many elegant old homes, dating back to the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many storied houses with long porches, balconies, and tall graceful columns are a beautifully preserved testament to the past.
