Chapa, applicant, for a variance from Chapter 17.24, Minimum Yards, Section 17.24.020, General Rules, Required Front Yard, Title 17, Zoning Uvalde Municipal Code, of 2,800 square feet to meet minimum requirements of the 7,000 square feet that is required to comply with the zoning codes at 1313 North Houston Street, NCB 202, North Uvalde Addition, Block 62, Lot 4-B, City of Uvalde, Uvalde County, Texas.

 

9.         NEW BUSINESS

 

9A.      Consider and act on a request of Enedilia M. 9B.      Consider and act on the designation/reservation of $160,000 from fiscal year 2006/07 general fund balance deriving from the Streets Department ($80,000) and Non-Departmental ($80,000) for the purpose of carrying out park improvements.

 

9C.      Consider and act on the City of Uvalde Ordinance No. 2007-12 amending the budget of the City of Uvalde, Texas for the Fiscal Year 2006-07.

 

9D.      Consider and act on the City of Uvalde Ordinance No. 2007-13 approving and adopting the City of Uvalde, Texas General Budget for the Fiscal Year 2007-2008 making appropriations for the City for such fiscal year as reflected in said budget and making certain findings and containing certain provisions relating to the subject.

 

9E.       Consider and act the property tax revenue increase reflected in the FY 2007-08 budget, City of Uvalde Ordinance No. 2007-14 providing for the levy and collection of  Ad Valorem Taxes for use and support of the Municipal Government for the City of Uvalde, Texas, for the 2007-08 Fiscal Year; providing the date on which such taxes shall be due and payable; providing for penalty and interest on all taxes not timely paid; providing for severability; and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent or in conflict herewith. 

1.      Vote to approve Maintenance and Operation tax rate of $0.3525/$100 valuation

2.      Vote to approve the Debt Service tax rate of $0.0975/$100 valuation

3.      Vote to adopt Ordinance 2007-14

 

9F.       Consider and act on the proposed changes in the City of Uvalde Employee Handbook of Policies and Procedures.

 

9G.      Consider and act on the adoption of the proposed permit fees to be effective January 1, 2008.

 

9H.      Consider and act on the price of cemetery plots from $370.00 to $450.00 and that cemetery plots be paid in full at time of purchase.

 

9I.        Consider and act on the proposed Green Fees and Golf Cart rental rates for the Uvalde Memorial Golf Course to be effective October 1, 2007.

 

9J.       Consider and act on the 2007-08 Organizational Chart effective October 1, 2007.

 

9K.      Consider and act on a Professional Proposal for Engagement with Vic Hilderbran, DBA, Winter Garden Associates Consider to provide consulting and other services relating to legislative issues commencing on October 1, 2007 and ending September 30, 2008.

 

10.              DISCUSSION

 

10A.    Discussion by Rose Fuentes of demolition of buildings that are structurally unsound and hazardous to human health.

 

            10B.    Discuss procedure for placing an item on the agenda.

 

 

11.              EXECUTIVE SESSION

 

The City Council of the City of Uvalde, Texas will convene in executive session in accordance and for the purposes permitted by the Open Meetings Act, Section 551.072 Deliberations about Real Property.

 

11A.    Discuss the sale of real property at the Industrial Park.

 

 

12.              RECONVENE FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION
